I dont even know how to ask this question. Ok i have a nephew i just got guardianship of who is mentally handicapped, mildly retarded. Well i bought myself a playstation, dont laugh LOL and i have a PS1 (i think i played Spyro once on it) that i told him he could have...Now all the games i had for the PS1 are gone, but i did find a place that sells used one, they have a lot. My question is....What are some really easy games i can buy, that wont over whelm him? or is there any computer type games i can buy that maybe he can learn from or play games on the computer? He is 19 and they never taught him to read at the group home, well he can a little. Im getting someone to teach him to read, i do believe he is capable. Please help, this guy wants to play so bad and im afraid im going to buy some game that will make him crazy. Also do the PS2 or PS3 games work in the PS1 and vise versa? Thanks in advance people ")

Playing video games could exacerbate things. Moreover, let him be the one to decide. Rent games, don't buy them. This will provide him the opportunity to try his hand at everything. Naturally you are going to want to put him up with games that you deem are to his skill level and liking, but he may find them pointless and boring. The two of you should go rent games together and allow him to pick one that he alone would want to play. If he doesn't get it don't sweat it! Most games out there are beyond the majority of the public and take time getting use to. So this yields the possibility of not only enhancing his eye-hand coordination but also his patience and self-esteem.Of course, i would limit his exposure. Also, I would suggest that you two pick out a game the two of you can play together, as a team and not opponents. In time, you might want to get him off the couch and standing in front of the TV with a Wii. If you take anything away from this, I would hope that its you let your nephew decide and that you all him to push himself in games that you may think is outside his skill set. Handicapp or not, everyone wants to expand beyond the bounders of life they were placed into. He should be no different. Hope this helped some. good luck!

Next, the best games for your Nephew are the young kids games, the ones that aren't really easy, but not really hard either. You could try Tomb Raider 1 but the only problem with that one is that there are guns in that game and I don't know if that is what you want him to learn. Maybe an early version of Crash Bandicoot. The only other option could be for you to buy a skateboarding game, like Tony Hawk or something. It has several old style games, but they are very easy to play. The other ones could be like racing games or a compendium like classic arcade games for him..i think it is called The Namco Museum game. Okay first of all the other answer is correct, although a little confusing. I really hope this helps for you to make him feel more at home.

- Well, I don't really know any games that would be suitable.
- But I can tell you that the PS2 and PS3 games won't work on the PS1.
- The PS1 games will work on the PS2, but the PS3 games wont work on the PS2.
- The PS1 and PS2 games will work for the PS3, but you need an updated one for them to work.
- It won't work on a stock 40GB PS3.
- Hope this helps.
